I cannot speak French so I 'll write in Engish, I'm really sorry!
I went to Chambery last Summer and I was very pleased to discover "Les Charmettes", the house of French philosopher Rousseau, which is very near the city.
The Charmettes has been classified as a historical monument in 1905. It is a regular house of literary remembrance where Rousseau's memory is still alive.
A large stairway leads to the bedrooms of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Madame de Warens.
There are lovely Italian trompe l'oeil paintings on the ground floor.
You have to visit it on summer time when the flowers of the magic gardens have just sprung! The park is marvellous, it is a natural protected site.
Enjoy your stay here!
